5th annual meeting of the RELOAD research network
September 18-19th, 2017, Members of the RELOAD research network met in Witzenhausen, Germany to share and discuss research results and their implications for reducing post-harvest losses, as well as to plan activities for the project’s final phase.
In addition to other accomplishments of the research team, innovative food products and nutritional supplements developed in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia particularly caught interest. Many of these products were developed by Master's and PhD students who are part of the RELOAD team. The mentorship and support of these young researchers was critical to the success of the project’s scientific and practical outcomes. Joining multiple stakeholder perspectives and disciplinary backgrounds fostered innovative approaches for addressing many dimensions of post-harvest losses.
